YOUR PAST DOES NOT DEFINE YOUR FUTURE
A story of crime, consequence, and redemption.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Beyond My Reach is a raw, street-level crime narrative that pulls readers into the hidden world of New York City’s subway pickpockets, where survival depends on timing, nerve, and knowing how to disappear in plain sight. Set against the gritty backdrop of late-1970s New York and beyond, the book follows a tight-knit circle of young thieves navigating crowded trains, underground tunnels, and relentless pressure from the NYPD’s Jostling Squad. Through vivid scenes and unforgettable characters, the story reveals how desperation, loyalty, and ambition collide in a city that never slows down, offering an unfiltered look at crime, consequence, and the thin line between freedom and capture, one stolen wallet at a time.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A STORY OF REDEMPTION
My name is Eric Miller, author of Beyond My Reach.
I spent six years in state prison and another six and a half years in federal prison for choices I made as a teenager. Those years were filled with hardship and regret, but they became the foundation for my transformation.
Since my release 27 years ago, I have rebuilt my life from the ground up. I committed to growth, accountability, and service. I now work with nonprofit organizations like Queens Team Motivational and Inspirational Community Organization, sharing my story with those who feel trapped by their past.
Today, I mentor at-risk youth and speak at community centers, reminding others of one powerful truth:
Your past does not define you.
A meaningful life is always within reach.

Community Impact & Speaking
Today, Eric Miller uses his story as a tool for impact. Through community speaking engagements and mentorship programs, he works with at-risk youth and local organizations to share a message of accountability, resilience, and transformation. His mission is simple — to help others understand that no past mistake is greater than the power to change.

Let’s Connect
Whether you’re interested in booking a speaking engagement, collaborating with community programs, or simply reaching out with a message, Eric welcomes the opportunity to connect.
Every conversation is a chance to inspire change, share hope, and remind someone that their future is still within reach.
